NSW Rural Fire Service New England Zone have warned residents in the region of the forecast of possible windy weather on the horizon across the New England this week.
From tomorrow, the Armidale, Uralla and Walcha Local Government Areas are likely to see winds in excess of 30 km/h with winds expected to ease as we move into the weekend.
The Service reminds permit holders that it is their responsibility to ensure that they can maintain the fire safely for the duration that it is burning.
They stress with strong winds come the risk of fast-moving grass fires, landowners are reminded to review the Bushfire Survival Plans and know what to do should a fire start in their area.
