Farmer support charity Farm Angels are calling on Australians to wear their best flannelette shirts today to support farming families across the country through an initiative called Flanno for a Farmer.
Farm Angels was established as Drought Angels in 2014 to respond to the needs of primary producers impacted by prolonged drought, initially in QLD but since has expanded to provide financial assistance, food hampers, care packs, and mental wellbeing support to over 4,700 primary producers affected by natural disasters in over 1,300 communities across Australia.
Farm Angels CEO Jason Law says Australian farmers are facing a multitude of challenges, including natural disasters, mental health struggles, and rising production costs and are urging the community to ‘don a flanno’ and donate a fiver.
Mr Law says the funds raised from Flanno for a Farmer goes towards providing for struggling farmers.
The fundraiser is aiming for 1 million Aussies to wear a flanno and donate a fiver in a bid to raise half a million dollars.
