The Inverell RSL Sub-Branch is anticipating its Modern Day Conflicts Memorial will be completed tomorrow, just in time for next Saturday’s commemorations.
Sub-Branch Committee member and former President Pat McMahon says it’s the first modern day conflict memorial to be built in Australia to honour our modern veterans.
Mr McMahon says the memorial has various colors with the top tier being grey which represents the confusion of war, black on the bottom tier to represent the darkness of war with all the marble used in the memorial coming from Australia.
He says many hours have been spent to ensure the memorial dedication is a spectacular addition to the town which honours local veterans.
Modern Day Conflicts Commemoration and Memorial Dedication will take place next Saturday September 6th.
