by | Aug 30, 2024 | Sport | 0 comments

Finals fever kicks off this weekend around the region with both Major and Minor Semi Finals to be played in the Group 19 Rugby League competition.

The Inverell Hawks are engaged in two Minor Semi’s at Gwydir Oval in Bingara tomorrow starting with their U18s team facing the Narwan Eels while the first-grade team confronts the Bingara Bullets in what’s expected to be a tough physical clash with the winner to advance to next week’s preliminary final while it’s curtains for the loser.

The Ladies league Tag Plate game between Armidale and Inverell has been cancelled due to a team forfeiting.

Action kicks off tomorrow at 12 noon with the ladies League tag game between the Narwan Eels and the Glen Innes Magpies.

Meanwhile, in the Major Semi’s taking place at Jim Payne oval in Warialda on Sunday commencing with the Ladies tag plate game between Warialda and the Moree Boomerangs followed by the epic Ladies League tag showdown between the Tingha Tigers and the Bingara Bullets, while the U18s match will see the undefeated Glen Innes Magpies tackle the Warialda Wombats

The first grade match will see the Warialda Wombats hoping to repeat last week’s result when they meet the Armidale Rams side.

The Wombats got away with a close 6-point win last week and will be out to get the win and gain hosting rights for this year’s Group 19 Grand Final

The 1st grade game kicks off at 2.30pm Sunday afternoon
