Incoming MP for Northern Tablelands Brendan Moylan will officially take the reigns this Friday July 12 after the full count of votes in the June 22 by-election was completed yesterday.
According to the Inverell Times, Northern Tablelands electoral manager Peter Dooley electronically filed the papers at 10am yesterday, with Mr Dooley and his team counting 45,934 voted in 8 days, including ballot papers coming from Hong Kong, London and the UK.
After the count was completed, it was shown Mr Moylan won almost 82% of the vote, making the Northern Tablelands one of the safest seats in NSW.
With voting and counting now concluded, the election writ will be returned to parliament this week, allowing Mr Moylan to be officially sworn in as the Northern Tablelands MP, the 5th since the electorate was created in 1981.
