Saturday’s Warialda Honey festival was held in brilliant sunny conditions at Jim Payne Oval with organisers saying they couldn’t have asked for a such a beautiful day.
Federal Member for Parkes Mark Coulton was on hand to officially open the festival and award this year’s Busy Bee Award recipient to Helen Siege for her incredible contribution to the Warialda community.
The award is in memory of Fay Honour and Debbie Ford who started the Honey Festival 17 years ago with the award chosen by the Price and Ford family each year.
Around 30 stalls were on display with stallholders coming from as far as Inverell, Tamworth, Wee Waa and Quirindi while the kids enjoyed having a photograph with Bieber the Bees, as well as participating in the Bee Busy Scavenger Hunt, Gumboot throwing competition and Kids Rides.
