Final preparations are underway for the Sapphire City Festival committee to once again stage the Festival Colour Fun Run to be held this afternoon.

Following a successful inaugural event last year, this will be the second staging of the Colour run at Varley Oval which will see an all-ability obstacle course set up with non-toxic colour powder used to colour the community in fun and laughter.

Peter Caddey from the Festival Committee says the concept for the Colour Run stemmed from an idea of including a fun, all ability, low-cost community event which could run for years to come.

Mr Caddey says they’ve secured the services of the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Support Group to cook up a BBQ and raise funds at the same time.

Tickets to Festival Colour Fun Run can still be purchased via the trybooking website, with the event to held from 4pm today at Varley Oval with a Celebrity Run also scheduled on the evening kicking off at 6pm.
