Northern Tablelands MP Brendan Moylan wants to hear from constituents about the NSW Government’s 12-month trial of point-to-point speed cameras.
Two sites, one near Port Macquarie and the other near Cootamundra, have been established to not only monitor heavy vehicles but also cars.
The Local MP confirmed the legislation had passed the Lower House of Parliament and is currently being debated in the Upper House.
Mr Moylan says if the trial is passed, which he expects it will, motorists will be fined on regional roads if they exceed the average speed limit between the two points.
He says the trial should have been conducted right across the state and is calling for community feedback.
