EnergyCo to Stage Drop-in Sessions

by | Sep 4, 2026 | Community, Environment

The Energy Corporation of New South Wales or EnergyCo will be conducting community conversation drop-ins next week in Inverell and Glen Innes to discuss the Community and Employment Benefit Program.

The program, which is investing hundreds of millions of dollars into regional communities across NSW, aims to ensure that electricity infrastructure investment delivers long term benefits for local communities.

EnergyCo state they’re seeking feedback from local communities, councils and First Nations groups on how the program is designed and delivered with NSW Minister for Energy Penny Sharpe announcing that an initial $60 million will be invested into communities hosting renewable energy and transmission lines so they can share the benefits of this once-in-a-generation opportunity adding it will bring new investment, funding and local jobs.

The public is encouraged to attended the community conversation drop-ins between 3pm to 6pm at Glen Innes Highlands Hub this Tuesday and Inverell Town Hall Annex on Wednesday.
