A small grass fire at Tingha became a cause for concern for a little while yesterday afternoon

The fire was located at Kempton Rd with the NSW Rural Fire Service stating at the time that there was no immediate danger but encouraged residents to keep up to date in case the situation changed.

Northern Tablelands District Manager, Inspector Scott Mack says the fire was quickly contained and only burned out a small patch of grassland.

The area was patrolled yesterday afternoon with the cause of the fire undetermined

Another fire was reported shortly after on the Gwydir Hwy on the outskirts of Inverell but was quickly extinguished by fire crews.
