A man who commenced his working life at Inverell and progressed to be a leading media identity in rugby league in Queensland has been honoured.
Tony Durkin has been inducted into the Suncorp Stadium Media Hall of Fame for his coverage and involvement with rugby league, including appearing on radio and television programmes and editing the high profile Rugby League Week publication.
Mr.Durkin spent several years as the Brisbane Broncos Media Manager and editor of the Club’s magazine, for which he was made a Club life member.
He started his media career with the Inverell Times newspaper in the late 60’s and played first grade rugby league with the Inverell Swans.
The voice of Rugby league Ray ‘Rabs Warren was also inducted into the Hall of Fame alongside Mr Durkin
