CWA NSW State President Joy Beames has visited Inverell this week to gauge the issues that are affecting local groups around the region.
Mrs Beames says the visit gives her the opportunity to meet members of various CWA groups, who find it difficult to attend regional functions or their state conference.
Speaking on STA FM yesterday, Mrs Beames says one of the main issues that has been discussed at all branches during her regional visits across NSW has been the 3G network closure, adding the decision makers didn’t realise the impact the closure would have in the bush.
She says they met with Telstra representatives recently who were under the impression that the closure of the 3G network hadn’t significantly impacted people in rural and regional areas.
