The 2024/25 Inverell Cricket season kicks off tomorrow with four teams out to gain the early momentum in the opening rounds.

Staggy Creek, Square and Compass, and Delungra will be out to interrupt Campbell and Freebairn’s hopes of back-to-back titles.

Round 1 action sees the reigning premier tackle Campbell & Freebairn tackle Delungra at Varley Oval in a rematch of last season’s Grand Final while at McCosker 2 Square & Compass face Staggy Creek.

With the threat of rain this evening into Saturday, there may be ground inspections for tomorrow morning to determine whether play will go ahead.

The Cricket Association advise players and spectators heading to Varley Oval tomorrow that due to Lawrence Street being closed between Evans and Rivers Streets for approximately 6 weeks to allow for the construction of the new entrance to the Inverell Aquatic Centre, access to Varley Oval will be available through the gate located on Evans Street.
