Counting Resumes This Week

Counting resumes this week for the Inverell Shire Council Local Government elections.

Following a check count of all booths and pre poll, Paul Harmon continues to hold a strong lead with 20.37% of formal votes from Kate Dight with 18% and Greg Kachel with 17.42% with these three candidates almost certain to be part of the new Council.

Jo Williams has received 8.75% followed by Paul King with 7.89%, Ian Hooker with 7.38%, Wendy Wilk 5.01%, Fiona Brown 4.9%, Kelvin Brown 4.02% Jacko Ross with 3,53% and Graem Murray with 2.74%.

Postal votes will close this Friday with the Electoral Commission then moving to the preference votes which will determine the remaining six councillor spots.
