Inverell Shire Council briefing session for prospective candidates wanting to gain a better understanding of the role of Councillor on Wednesday night has been hailed a success
8 potential candidates turned up to the session and were taken through 4 topics including registering and nominating as a candidate, running a campaign, rules for election day and information for current councillors considering standing for pre-selection
Council says the attendees were positive and had definite interest in running at Septembers Local Government Elections following Wednesday night’s session.
Candidate nomination registrations close at 12 noon on Wednesday 14th of August with Local Government Elections taking place on Saturday 14th September.
