Inverell Rotary Club have hailed the visit of the Men’s Health Education Rural Van this week as a tremendous success.
The custom-built caravan, with a dedicated registered nurse, travels the state offering free health screenings to regional and rural men and women.
Helen Tickle from the Inverell Rotary Club says 97 men and women visited the van for a free health check over the 2 days
Some visitors were instructed by the nurse to go back to their G.P’s for follow up checks while others were given a clean bill of health.
Mrs Tickle says it was a very successful 2 days of health checks with visitor’s number higher than normal stressing there is a need for more doctors in the bush.
