Glen Innes Severn Council will continue its Community Information Sessions on Wednesday at the Glen Innes Town Hall from 5 to 7pm.
Residents are encouraged to come along and learn more about Council’s future plans, its Long term financial sustainability and their Proposal for a Special Rate Variation.
Council is contemplating a permanent 68% rate rise over three years in an effort to make council financially sustainable adding that their long term financial forecast indicates without an increase in rates, Council faces deficits of approximately $4.7 million from 2025/2026.
Rate payers will be able to speak directly with Councillors and key stakeholders, pick up printed information and complete a hardcopy survey on the night.
A second Virtual Information Session will be held this Thursday, from 5:30 to 7pm for those who are unable to be at Wednesday’s session.
