Inverell Shire Council is expected to adopt its 10-year Community Strategic Plan and its 2025-29 Delivery Program at today’s Council meeting.
It follows council putting the documents on public display for 28 days in April and May and receiving 7 public submissions.
Some of the key issues noted in submissions included the ongoing costs of council’s functions and facilities, increased pigeon numbers, road upgrades and food insecurity.
In it’s Business papers, Council state it is encouraging to note that the level of community engagement in the submission process for the suite of Integrated Planning and Reporting documents increased substantially on previous years, showing a growing interest from the community regarding the functions and strategic direction of Council
