A public appeal and fundraiser have been launched after tragic accidents struck the Koina family from Warialda twice in a less than 14 months.
Last year, 22-year-old son Ben lost his right arm at the shoulder in a crusher accident while in late September this year, Ben’s brother, 26-year-old Braydon, lost his left arm above the elbow in a farming accident.
The Warialda community has rallied around Ben and Bradyon and their parents, Trish and Greg Koina and are organising a fundraising night at the Commercial Hotel in Warialda on 14th of December.
Event organiser Gail Pennington says Boss Engineering, where Braydon worked, have donated a Ute tray which will be auctioned on the 14th while a Country & Western Night is planned at the Commercial Hotel Warialda on 16th November and a Barefoot bowls day on November 30th.
Ms Pennington is asking communities and businesses in Warialda and Inverell to help by donating goods and services as prizes for a monster raffle being planned.
Any businesses that can help in any way, can contact Gail on 0427 299 072
