The Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications and the Arts is seeking feedback on how best to ensure the sustainability of the community broadcasting sector.
Community broadcasting plays an essential role in Australia’s media environment, with special importance in regional and remote Australia, and for people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and First Nations communities.
This consultation examines the existing funding, regulatory and legislative settings that impact the sustainability of community broadcasting, with community broadcasters and organisations in the sector encouraged to read the discussion paper and make a submission via the infrastructure.gov.au website.
The consultation closes 30th August 2024.
