Cold Chisel fans will be gearing up to head to a landmark concert of the iconic Aussie Rock group who’ll be embarking on their 50th anniversary tour commencing in Armidale this long weekend.
Armidale was chosen as the town to start the big Five-0 tour due to band’s early roots with main contributing writer Don Walker raised there, before moving to Adelaide to form the band, followed by a return to Armidale where Walker finished studying at UNE in 1974, bringing back the band with him.
Aside from Armidale, there are 10 other concerts scheduled for the 50th anniversary tour wrapping up at the Adelaide 500 Supercar event, the city where the band officially got their start.
The first concert will be held at the Peterson Winery in Armidale this Saturday 5th October.
