The Westpac Rescue Helicopter was called out to Copeton Dam last Thursday night after a motor vehicle accident.
Around 10:30pm, the chopper was tasked by NSW Ambulance to the scene to attend to a man in his 50’s.
The man was trapped for some time after his vehicle rolled but was eventually released from the vehicle by the Inverell VRA, Fire & Rescue NSW and NSW Rural Fire Service and treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics and the helicopter’s critical care medical team for multiple injuries before being airlifted to the John Hunter Hospital in a serious condition.
