The Inverell Chamber of Commerce will host a Meet the Candidates Information evening next week for candidates running at the September 14 Local Government Elections.
Chamber President Jacki Watts says the purpose of the evening will be to allow each candidate the opportunity to introduce themselves to the community.
Inverell Shire will have 11 candidates to choose from at the upcoming election including current councillors Paul Harmon, Kate Dight, Jo Williams, Paul King, Jack Ross, and Wendy Wilks and newcomers Fiona Brown, Greg Kachel, Ian Hooker, Kelvin Brown and Graeme Murray.
The community will also be able to participate by asking questions of the candidates when the floor is open to enable the nominees to inform the community of their opinions on a number of issues.
The Information Night will be held this Tuesday 3rd of September at the Inverell Uniting Church in Rivers St starting at 7pm.
