Australian Red Meat exports remained at a firm pace over September, with beef, lamb, mutton and goatmeat exports all on track for record export volumes.
Exports of Goatmeat rose 43% year-on-year in September to 4765 tonnes, the highest monthly figure on record with the United States remaining the largest market for goatmeat in 2024, with exports rising 120% year-on-year to 2493 tonnes.
Meanwhile, beef exports rose 16% year-on-year to 114,046 tonnes in September with the US once again claiming the largest market, where exports lifted 52% year-on-year to 37,218 tonnes, the record export figure attributing to the decline in US cow slaughter.
Lamb exports eased by 13% year-on-year to 27,363 tonnes, while mutton rose 33% year-on-year to 21,821 tonnes, with both the 2024 figures for lamb and mutton on track to being the highest on record.
