Bindaree Celebrates 30 Years in Inverell

by | Dec 10, 2025 | Business | 0 comments

Bindaree Beef celebrated 30 years in Inverell last week, growing into a cornerstone of the region that has supported long-term jobs, partnered with generations of cattle producers and contributed to the strength and resilience of the Northern Tablelands and New England.

More than $1.25 billion in wages has flowed from Bindaree Beef over the past 30 years into households, shops, schools and small businesses across Inverell and its surrounds – a reflection of their long-term commitment to local jobs, regional prosperity and rural communities.

While Inverell holds the longest chapter in the Bindaree Food Group story, it forms part of a much broader national and international network.

From their roots in Casino, now through Croppa Creek and Cooma to Burleigh Heads, Brisbane, Sydney and their overseas offices, every site contributes to delivering a genuine paddock-to-plate experience.

CEO, Andrew McDonald says before they took over the operation of the abbatoir from Smorgans on December 4, 1995, the facility faced an uncertain future following Union disruptions and chequered opening hours but under the guidance of his late father J.R, the business grew for the better

Mr MacDonald says the quality of beef has significantly improved during the past 30 years, which has seen the product sent to many countries overseas.
