Campbell & Freebairn Rebels have scored a thumping victory over Square and Compass at Varley Oval under the DLS system in Round 11 action in the Inverell Cricket competition on Saturday.
Led by Blake Ubergang with an unbeaten 122 with support from Dave Mudaliar with 61, the Rebels posted a massive 3/285 in their 40 overs and in reply, Square and Compass could only muster 7/113 before lightning and rain forced players from the field.
In the other game, Glen Innes bowler Nick Levy has inspired his team to a 94 run win over Delungra at King George Oval claiming the figures of 6/11.
Chasing 134 for victory, Levy ripped through the Delungra line-up to have them dismissed for 47.
Meantime over in Armidale yesterday, Inverell’s rep cricket team scored two comprehensive victories in the War Veterans T-20 Cup.
In the first game, Dave Mudaliar scored 103 in Inverell’s 3/172 and in reply, Ingram Williams’ 4 wickets restricted Armidale to 6/165 while in the 2nd game Inverell thumped West Tamworth by 114 runs.
They will now travel to Narrabri next week in the Connolly Cup.
