An Inverell High School student who claimed a championship belt at a major boxing competition on the Gold Coast earlier this year, is in training to defend his title in November.
Year 10 student Riley Bartlett won the 15-year-old Championship Belt and returned to the Gold Coast last weekend for an exhibition match.
In a Community Recognition Statement, Northern Tablelands MP Brendan Moylan paid tribute to Riley for his hard work and commitment shown to his chosen sport of Boxing.
He also singled out Darren and Dean Finn from the Sapphire Academy of Sports Gymnasium for the opportunities to excel and reach his goal of becoming a champion boxer.
