Around 240 people from near and far converged at the Inverell racecourse on Saturday for the Sapphire Social Committee’s Ball.
Emceed by former local now CEO of Australian Livestock & Property Agents Association Peter Baldwin and attended by former Newcastle Knights Premiership players and founder of the Mark Hughes Foundation, Mark Hughes, the ball aimed to connect young people together and help put Inverell on the map with some coming from as far as Casino, Toowoomba, and Brisbane
Claudia Hadenfeldt from the Sapphire Social Committee says they’re hoping through events like the Ball will attract more people to work and live in Inverell.
She says they also were raising money for Operation Operating Room however an official figure is yet to be determined but expects it will be a wonderful donation.
