Assistant Minister for Trade Senator Tim Ayers believes when it comes to energy generation, New England MP Barnaby Joyce doesn’t know much about it.
In an item in the Northern Daily Leader, Mr Ayers was examining Mr Joyce’s rejection of renewable energy projects and jobs for the region while boring his constituents senseless with his exploits.
Mr Ayers says during his recent trip to the New England it was clear that there is a significant gap between Mr Joyce’s self-serving tale of his own heroism, and regional Australians who are focused on securing economic opportunity.
He says rather than pursuing a sustainable and affordable energy future for his region and for the country, Mr Joyce turns his back on the cheapest form of power generation currently available adding the Albanese Labor Government will keep working with Australians across the political spectrum in regional Australia to modernise our energy system, rebuild Australian manufacturing and deliver good jobs and value add economic development to regional Australia.
