Local students from Ashford Central School have taken home a ‘Special Mention Award’ for their project ‘Nu-Trish’ in the national Picasso Cows program, beating over 49 schools from across Australia.
The program challenged students to put their creative minds to work, showcasing artistic flare while learning about the dairy industry, including the farm to plate process and health and nutrition.
The Picasso Cows program is a curriculum aligned program designed to inspire the next generation of curious minds with a creative way to learn about one of Australia’s most important agricultural industries, covering a broad range of content from how dairy farmers care for their cows and the environment, to producing delicious dairy products, and the important role the dairy food group plays in lifelong health.
