Missing Woman from Torrington, Located

A woman missing from the Glen Innes area has been located safe.

The 58-year-old was reported missing about 11.30am yesterday (Monday 23 February 2026).

When she could not be located, officers attached to New England Police District were notified and commenced inquiries into her whereabouts.

Following inquiries, she was found safe and well in the Torrington area about 8am today (Tuesday 24 February 2026).

Police would like to thank the public for their assistance.

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a woman missing from the Glen Innes area.

58-year-old Michelle Toop was last seen in Silent Grove Road at Torrington, about 11.30am yesterday (Monday 23 February).

When she could not be located, officers attached to New England Police District were notified and commenced inquiries into her whereabouts.

Police and family hold serious concerns for her welfare due to a medical condition.

Michelle is described as being of Caucasian appearance, solid build, about 170cm tall, with greying brown k hair and brown eyes and was last seen wearing a short sleeve purple shirt, black track pants, black work boots and a wide brim straw hat.

Anyone with information into her whereabouts is urged to call Glen Innes police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
