Glen Innes Severn Council have advised that the ANZAC Park playground will be closed from Monday, 13 October for the demolition of the existing playground.
Works on the new Nature Play Park are scheduled to commence on Monday, 27 October 2025, carried out by Moduplay.
The old playground equipment will be repurposed, with a new location currently being considered with Council to confirm the details once they’re finalised.
The proposed designs offer a variety of engaging features including Multiplay area shaded by sails, separate zones for climbing, balancing, rocking and spinning, double “Skyrider” flying fox with an inclusive seat, traditional swings and other swinging play, open spaces for socialising and resting, waterplay features to stimulate the senses, new accessible BBQ and seating area, and pathways connecting the playground to East Avenue and the nearby toilet block for easy access
