The countdown is on for this year’s Bingara Orange Festival which officially kicks off today with the annual orange picking and harvest ceremony which pays respect to the town’s fallen soldiers.
The Orange Festival has a huge Saturday program scheduled with live performances kicking off at 10am on the main stage and the official opening being held at 11am with Gwydir Shire Mayor Tiffany Galvin and Willoughby City Council Mayor Tania Taylor
During the day, visitors will enjoy entertainment from local schools, Dance groups, a magic show and the Festival’s Grand Parade.
Gwydir Shire Council advises part of Finch Street will have a temporary road closure in place 10am – 12:30pm today
The road closure on Finch Street will be in place from the Maitland Street intersection to the Fraser Street intersection and will not impact Maitland Street or Fraser Street.
