Shadow Tourism Minister and Deputy Leader of the state’s Nationals, Kevin Anderson is mourning the loss of his wife Anna, who passed away on Tuesday.
In a statement, Mr Anderson says due to an unforeseen and tragic family loss, he will be cancelling all his commitments for the 2026 Tamworth Country Music Festival and appreciated the understanding and support his family have already received.
Mrs Anderson co-owned a pharmacy in Peel St and had previously worked in Quirindi and Moree.
The Anderson family confirmed the passing of Mrs Anderson, stating Anna was deeply loved by many within the community and across the region, and this is a very difficult time for all who knew her.
The family has asked for privacy while they grieve.
