The countdown is on for the 65th running of the Squadron Energy Grafton to Inverell Cycle Classic which will see the event run over a 2-day format this weekend.
Australia’s toughest one day cycle race, which is now part of the Provelo Super League Series, will include last year’s winner Tristan Saunders, current Australian Road race champion Patrick Eddy and Olympic gold medalist and series leader Oliver Bleddyn in the men’s 229km race while the Women’s series leader Sophia Sammons and 3rd place Odette Lynch will feature in the Women’s Provelo Super League that will leave Mt Mitchell at 8:15
Locals to keep an eye out for include Ryan Thomas and Brent Ress in the main race while Peter Horwood, Brendon Jones, Shane Edmonds, and veteran Darren Halliday will ride in the Open category.
Both men and women cyclists will back up to race a criterium at the Lake Inverell Recreation Circuit, with the women starting at 1:15pm followed by the men at 2:40pm.
