Action Heats Up in Inverell Cricket

by | Feb 20, 2026 | Sport

Teams will be hoping for better weather tomorrow after games were abandoned due to wet weather last weekend in the Inverell Cricket competition.

Staggy Creek will be hoping to further cement their top seeding on the ladder when they meet Square & Compass at Varley Oval.

A Square & Compass win will ensure a finals berth while Staggy will be hoping to build momentum ahead of the finals.

In the other Round 14 game, Glen Innes will face Campbell & Freebairn Rebels at McCosker 2 with both teams wanting a psychological win over the other ahead of finals.

Glen Innes still have the chance to win the minor premiership but will depend on Staggy dropping their last two games

Meantime Inverell’s rep cricket team will complete their Connolly Cup commitments when they play Armidale on Sunday at the Armidale Showgrounds.
