The Inverell Library has been successful in obtaining a grant for $60,000 to create study and meeting spaces within the library under the 2024-25 Library Council of New South Wales Public Library Infrastructure program.
The funding will support the installation of two multi-use study booths, designed to provide soundproof, private spaces for small study groups, meetings, and individual use with each booth fully enclosed, equipped with ventilation, lighting, power, seating, and a work surface, ensuring a comfortable and functional environment for library patrons.
Each booth will allow for small study groups, meetings and individual use while technology will be installed to allow for online meetings and consultations to be conducted, as well as participation in streamed events such as funerals and lectures.
Sonia Wilkins from Inverell Shire Library says Council is excited to deliver this upgrade and looks forward to welcoming patrons into an improved and even more accessible study environment.
She says staff are currently looking at various designs for the study spaces and expects works to begin within two months.
