Stronger Willis Creek Bridge to Improve Transport

by | May 29, 2025 | Local Government, Transport | 0 comments

Armidale Regional Council has engaged a contractor to strengthen the Willis Creek Bridge on Tenterden Road.

Council says this work will allow the existing 25 tonne limit to be removed, aiding the more efficient movement of goods and services between Guyra and Tingha.

Work commenced this week and is expected to be completed tomorrow, weather permitting with the strengthened bridge to support heavier vehicles, reducing transport costs for those reliant on heavy transport.

During this period, traffic will be diverted to the causeway adjoining the bridge and the traffic flow will be under the control of traffic lights during the day and  “Give Way” signage afterhours.

Vehicle users of Tenterden Road, Mordun Dams Road and New Valley Road between Wandsworth and Tingha will experience traffic disruptions and are encouraged to bypass Willis Creek via the Guyra to Tingha Road and plan their trips
