Fire & Rescue NSW Inverell will be commencing their 2025 winter fire safety campaign next month.
This Sunday 1 June is Smoke Alarm Action Day, an annual, nationwide day of action supported and endorsed by emergency services from every state and territory that encourages people to test their smoke alarm.
Brenan Simpson from Fire & Rescue NSW Inverell says it also marks the beginning of their Winter Fire Safety Campaign, which is focused on educating the public on how to be fire safe during the higher risk months.
Mr Simpsons says Fire and Rescue NSW offer free safety visits with firefighters coming to homes and checking smoke alarms and installing a new one if needed.
