Man Jailed for Threatening Brother and Breaching Bonds

by | Mar 21, 2025 | Crime | 0 comments

A Guyra man has been sentenced to 10 months jail for pulling a knife on his brother and breaching bonds.

The Northern Daily Leader reports 19-year-old Dekye Pixton appeared in court this week for breaching multiple bonds and two new charges of armed with intent and larceny relating to an incident last November where Pixton went to his brother house to retrieve $1000 for the purchase of methamphetamine and threatening to stab him with a 15cm kitchen knife.

Police documents revealed Pixton retreated to the loungeroom to arm himself with a crowbar before his father intervened.

Magistrate Mark Richardson dismissed submissions that Pixton was trying to overcome drug problems and comply with community corrections orders and sentenced him to 10 months jail with a non-parole period of five months.

He will be eligible for release on August 15 this year.
