Man Pleads Not Guilty Following Incident in Emmaville

A builder has pleaded not guilty to grievous bodily harm, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, dangerous driving, and not disclosing the identity of a driver following an incident in Emmaville on Friday, January 10.

The Northern Daily Leader reports the defence for 34-year-old Nathan Bye says the accused had been beaten unconscious during the incident involving two victims.

Police allege the Bye had driven a Toyota Landcruiser on Gulf Rd at High speed and in a dangerous manner and had also tendered photographs to the court of one of the alleged victims, showing bar marks on his face, as well as text messages.

Bye’s solicitor Frank Falcomata told the court that this incident was implausible adding his client was beaten unconscious, yet somehow he has ended up in court.

He was granted condition bail will the matter up for mention at Glen Innes Local Court on Tuesday March 11th
