Several Glen Innes locals have been nominated for the Shire’s Australia Day Citizen of the Year Award.
Lindy Alt, Frances Cheshire, Howard Eastwood, Desmond Fitzgerald, Garry Foster, Lloyd Gawura Hornsby, William Rendell, Robbert and Jenny Thomas Noel Pratt and Dr James White have been nominated for this year’s award.
The Young Citizen of the Year Award has 6 nominees including Darcy Husband, Ella Lacey, Beau McCrae, Andrew Marchant, Sky McIndoe and Ella Trethewey.
Other awards to be presented include the Community Event of the Year, Volunteer Community Organisation, Emergency Services Volunteer, Senior and Sports Person of the Year.
Winners will be announced at the Australia Day Awards Ceremony at the Glen Innes & District Services Club from 10.30am with the Official Ceremonies beginning at 11.30am next Sunday week.
