New England MP Barnaby Joyce has signed off for the political year wishing families across the electorate a Merry Christmas in his Christmas message.
Mr Joyce says he hopes everyone has a chance to spend time with family, but understands that this year, many are finding it very financially tight.
The member says very importantly, he hoped everyone remember that Christmas is a celebration of the time the Son of God came into the world and changed it for the better, forever.
He also reminded people to wish family and friends Merry Christmas instead of Seasons Greetings adding that phrase is said when you say hello to the seasoning in the backside of the Christmas turkey.
