Inverell Golf Club’s Men’s Mills Plate matchplay was finalised on Saturday.
Peter Schofield and Tom Murphy took the lead on the first and were never headed, being 1 up at the turn and managing to get to 3 up before Scott Moylan and Marcus Muggleton made a brief comeback, however Peter and Tom were unstoppable, claiming their win on the 17th hole.
Meanwhile, young Inverell golfer Ryan Kinnear celebrated his 13th birthday on Saturday, playing off a handicap of 21 and managing to score 78 off the stick, 13 under his handicap.
This gave him 49 points in the stableford competition and winning the day, 6 points ahead of 2nd placed Shane Edmonds and another 5 ahead of Col Flood.
