Inverell Shire councillors have resolved to change the car parking arrangements in Rivers Street, between Otho Street and Campbell Street following concerns about car parking access for patients to the New England Skin and Medical Clinic.
The Clinic had contacted Council to highlight issues they were experiencing due to the carparking arrangements with the indented carparking spaces being occupied by vehicles owned by staff of nearby business houses and the adjacent state government office building.
Inverell Shire Mayor Kate Dight says council has been assessing the issue for the past few months and have resolved to have a two hour limit for the indented car parking side of Rivers Street with an additional two disabled parking spaces included while the other side of the street will remain unlimited parallel parking.
Mayor Dight says Council will monitor the area and encouraged workers to adhere to the parking changes.
