Macintyre High School student Bella Thompson has placed 4th in the Novice Shearing Finals at National Shearing and wool handling championships held at Katanning in Western Australia over the weekend.
It’s been a big year for Bella who competed in the NSW championships in May and won the Novice shearing competition that gained her selection in the NSW shearing team.
Bella, who was taught how to shear on the family farm by her father Ross and has attended school based shearing schools with TAFE over the past two years, made the final of the Novice Shearing Final but finished 4th in the competition.
Her mother Lee says it’s a wonderful achievement from a high school student not working full time in the industry yet.
