A former Armidale School Councillor has been sentenced to 28 years imprisonment due to child sex related offenses conducted in the 1970s and 80s.
Allan Keith Huggins, a 77 yr old former school councillor at O’Connor Catholic College in Armidale, was found guilty in Sydney’s Downing Centre District Court on 36 offenses against the victims who were teenage and pre-teenage boys, with some being students at the school while others saw him for private counselling sessions at an external clinic.
This is the second time Huggins has been jailed for sexually abusing boys in his care, having also offended in Western Australia, with a court sentencing Huggins to more than 9 yrs jail, with the court finding Huggins guilty of 16 child sex offenses on 7 boys in the early 1990s.
Mr Huggins will be due for parole at the age of 93 years, in 2040.
