Dreams do come true, and the horse a syndicate of Inverell people owned for a day has taken out Australia’s richest race for country horses.

A record crowd at Randwick on Saturday, including several members of the local Tatts Hotel syndicate, cheered home Murwillumbah horse FAR TOO EASY in the $2 million KOSCIUSZKO, winning by 2 lengths.

It was an emotional win as FAR TOO EASY almost died earlier this year after suffering from acute colitis.

Excitement was fever pitch at a packed Tatts Hotel and there was great jubilation when FAR TOO EASY saluted, whilst the big crowd at Inverell Jockey Club’s phantom meeting also roared their delight and gave bookmakers their worst result of the day.

Trainer David McColm said last week if the horse won the big race he would make the trip to Inverell to celebrate with the syndicate who had given it the chance to run in the race.
