The AFL Northwest League has announced a Girls Only AFL Series starting later this month in Tamworth and Gunnedah in an effort of attracting young girls to the sport.

Sessions will be held at the Riverside Oval in Tamworth on October 22^nd and November 5^th and at Wolseley Oval in Gunnedah on October 31^st and November 14^th.

Northern NSW AFL Community Football & Competition Manager of Brad Greenshields says this is the perfect chance for young girls to build skills, gain confidence, and have loads of fun on the field.

Mr Greenshields says the sessions will involve fun drills and games while having skill-building sessions with experienced coaches in a supportive and empowering environment.

He says encouraged girls aged between 11 and 14 to bring their friends, make new ones, and enjoy an awesome time playing footy.
