Millions of St. George and Westpac bank customers were unable to access their money online or through app banking following a major outage on Monday.
The outage lasted for two hours with Westpac’s online and banking services confirming in a statement the outage occurred at around 1:40pm but has since been restored.
St George, which is part of Westpac Group, also confirmed it was experiencing outages with some customers noting on social media they could not log onto the app or online banking via desktop.
News.com.au reports the outage comes just days after Westpac scrapped its cardless cash withdrawal service, citing declining cash use as the reason.
